A glimpse of summer with Miss M! – Portland, Oregon Family Photographer

In the past week or so, my Facebook page has been filled with the cutest little back to school pictures and I’m reminded that – OH YAH! -it’s the end of summer! Though I may not have an official summer vacation any longer, I sure remember that exciting feeling of the last week of school followed by months of watching TV for hours, playing in the pool until I was waterlogged, and great family vacations. Then it was time for back to school shopping, wondering what to wear on the first day back and the dreaded feeling that homework would start once again.

Those back-to-school posts are also a reminder that the beautiful Oregon summer is coming to an end very soon. It’s short-lived here in the PNW, but our summers are spectacular! Not too hot, no bugs to deal with, and everyone is out and about trying to take advantage of the wonderful outdoors.  I can already tell I’m starting to wear sandals less and closed toed shoes more. So sad! I did have a great summer though! I ran the Seattle Rock and Roll Half Marathon for the third year in a row, took a two week road trip through California, and had my annual girls weekend in Sunriver. The summer came to an end this past weekend when I got to shoot TWO weddings!!! It was exhausting but I absolutely loved it and can’t wait to share the photos here in a few weeks!

Another highlight of the summer? Getting to do a shoot with little miss M and her lovely mom! I’ve done several sessions with them and each time is better and better! I absolutely adore her pigtails and matching bows on top of how photogenic they both are! We had a great time at Gabriel Park and I learned the trick with M is BUBBLES and finding tiny flowers. I loved how these turned out!
