As I sit here watching the grey clouds and buckets of rain from the window here in Portland, it’s hard to believe that just three weeks ago I got to be the photographer for this sweet family in DuPont, Washington on a sunny and warm day! Summer is clearly over here in the Pacific Northwest! I was so lucky to not only have a great day for photography, but to be able to photograph this adorable family! I mean, how cute are they? I knew they were going to make my job easy when I saw the dapper dog in a bowtie! I had so much fun capturing Elizabeth, baby Rew and Indy the puppy! At several points, I even had Indy sitting in my lap as I snapped away and if you know me, you KNOW my feelings about dogs, especially bird dogs (meaning, I ADORE bird dogs!) And babies in Einstein diapers (Elizabeth just also happens to be a science teacher!)
Elizabeth recently trained this girl on her Ironman Canada. Naturally, I asked “Oh, have you done a few Ironman (men?)” Her response? “No, that was number ELEVEN!” My jaw dropped. I found out later that she actually has WON Iroman in her age bracket before. Yes, she’s amazing. Baby Andrew thinks so, too! He was the happiest little guy to be with his mom and brother Indy! It’s clear Andrew is her son, as he didn’t want to stay still for a second. You set him on one end of the blanket and seconds later, he was already past the blanket crawling in the grasses. Apparently just as fearless as his mom, too! What a fun fun family session in DuPont!
Thanks for letting me capture some adorable moments, Thiel family! And Indy, you’re welcome to come sit on my lap anytime!
