The first of my back-to-back Labor Day weekend weddings was kicked off by the wedding of Amanda and Chad. If their shoe choice is any indication of their personalities, they are super fun, amazingly stylish, and you just want to be around them! Weird comparison? Not for these two! Chad landed his dream job as a shoe designer for a highly coveted brand and Amanda happens to work at the same place! So naturally, they’re shoe addicts. As for setting the standard for style? Chad had his trademark handlebar mustache way before it was standard on the Portland hipster scene. Ultimately? They’re just a wonderful couple who had a wedding that fit them perfectly!
Perhaps it’s the San Diego connection, but I can’t help but love this couple! I was honored to be able to capture their big day at McMenimans Grand Lodge in Forest Grove, Oregon. The ceremony almost brought ME to tears as they told their story, their reception was a blast as everyone was up on the dance floor, and you can tell just how special their friends and family are as they surrounded Amanda and Chad with a last dance group circle! It’s weddings like these that make me love being a wedding photographer!
Congratulations Amanda and Chad! It was an honor to be a part of one of the most important days of your lives!
Chad even surprised Amanda by secretly learning to play the cello and performing their first song on the CELLO!! How amazing is that?
And perhaps one of my favorites of the evening…a final shot of the Mr + Mrs.
Best wishes for a beautiful life together!
