“To love and be loved is to feel the sun from both sides.” – David Viscott
I love weddings. NO. I love love LOVE weddings. It never fails that I shed tears at every wedding I go to. Now that I get to be the photogrpaher at some of them, it never fails that I come home exhausted but elated, telling myself “THIS is why I love shooting weddings!” as I excitingly scroll through the backscreen on my camera as I crash on the couch. Emily and Taylor’s big day was certainly no different!
You may remember Emily and Taylor from their gorgeous Sauvie Island engagement photos, so it was an exciting countdown to their big day at the end of April! Since Emily and I reconnected on Facebook a few years ago (as we were friends in high school), it’s been so amazing watching the story of her and Taylor! From camping adventures to their weekly Sunday night dinners, this couple is seriously adorable.
We were a little nervous about the rain cloud warning that were on the Saturday morning forecast, but the rain held off until everyone just made it into the reception-talk about perfect timing! They had their ceremony at St. Clares Catholic Church, then we went to Oregon City, a cute historical town that is perched on cliffs just above the Willamette River. I almost died when I saw a field of purple wildflowers at the VFW Promenade Park, perfect for some couple’s portraits!! From there we went up the hill to get the party started at the Tumwater Room at the Museum of the Oregon Territory, where we all laughed, cried, and danced the night away (myself included!) It was a PERFECT day from start to finish and I had a blast being there to capture it all and also being able to reconnect with a few old friends. Enjoy!
