Somehow it’s…almost the end of 2014. I hang my head in shame as I haven’t updated here in MONTHS!! Bad Erin! Don’t worry, I’ve still been keeping my camera busy throughout summer, fall and now WINTER (since it officially starts tonight!)
It’s been an amazing, incredible, unbelievably GREAT year!! A large part of it was because of this summer, which flew by due to the crazy schedule of traveling for personal travel and work travel…and my own wedding!
Over the next few weeks, I’ll catch you up with what Erin Elizabeth Photography has been up to!
First up…the summer months! One of my very best friends in the entire world competed in her SECOND Ironman (one of TWO this year!), so I was fortunate to be able to witness her in action in Coeur D’Alene Idaho! I also happened to fall in love with Coure D’Alene and now want a (large) cabin on Hayden Lake. Ah, to dream. Anyway, I was so proud of her and several other wear blue IRONMAN athletes! I was exhausted just watching them, but their strength and perseverance was awe-inspiring!
The weather was a bit…exciting…all day, but the sunset that night?!? Breathtaking.
The following week, I took some time out for the future hubby and me. We went east of Detroit Lake to Breitenbush Campground off the Breitenbush River. The river flowed jsut feet from our campground, the fire roared nightly and we even did some soaking at the nearby Hot Springs. It was a GREAT way to relax over the July 4th weekend! I highly recommend the campground and the Detroit Lake area is a wonderful nearby stop! They do fireworks over the lake, but us old folks were too tired to make the drive. The campfire and the cozy tent called our name well before the fireworks were over!
Of course, I busted out the tripod and a flashlight for some fun light-painting at night! I’m sure the other campers were wondering what we were doing (we didn’t shine it into anyone’s campsite!)
The MOST exciting part of summer?!?! Our wedding in MAUI!!! I’m not sure words can even describe it, but it was truly unforgettable. I felt like I was in a movie for most of the trip. We were married on the Trilogy Catamaran surrounded by a small group of close friend and family. It was magical. We even had dolphins show up after the Maid of Honor made her speech! How can you even top that??? It.was.perfect. On top of that, I get to call the most wonderful man in the entire world my HUSBAND!! I’m a lucky lucky girl (and he’s a lucky lucky guy!)
Of course I had to choose a photographer to capture our big day, so I brought one of the best from Portland! Alice of Mosca Studio was able to join us over in Maui and the photos reflect the day PERFECTLY! The vibrant colors, the smiles, the beauty. I look at my photos often and just daydream of being back there!
That was just PART of my crazy amazing unforgettable am-i-dreaming summer! I still have one more BIG trip I didn’t include, so stay tuned for that!
